Liz Crandall

Liz is an experienced public speaker leading the next generation of public lands advocates in the pursuit of positive change and environmental protections.

From National Parks, Forests, Monuments, and more to Wildlife Refuges and Wilderness Study Areas— Liz has made it her duty to speak out and encourage others to do so as well in order to protect nature.

With 9 years of federal service with the U.S. Forest Service, including work in Recreation, Fire, and Natural Resources, Liz has a diverse array of experience in land management, collaboration with stakeholder groups, and educating the public.

After being illegally fired by DOGE in February of 2025, she stood up for federal workers such as the rangers who dedicate their life to conservation. From appearing live on CNN International to collaborating as the main speaker for a Sierra Club feature film, she aims to uplift others and shine a light on outdoor issues. In March of 2025, she attended the State of the Union in Washington DC as the guest of Rep. Janelle Bynum (OR-5) to represent fired federal workers.

Liz is an avid mushroom forager, rockhounder, backpacker, and explorer of public lands.

When she’s not romping around the Oregon woods, you can find Liz in her skoolie recording her podcast and doing digital advocacy for Conservation Lands Foundation.

Liz lives in the Pacific Northwest with her fiancee and two cats, Lion and Linky, in their school bus named Linda.

From Oregon to Colorado, two young Rangers teamed up in 2025 to advocate for all things public lands and the outdoors. As former National Park Service and US Forest Service field workers themselves, Liz and Mikayla invite you to join them on their new journey to speak up for those who may not be in a position to themselves and shine a guiding light into the raw and real truths behind the agencies and organizations who protect our natural spaces. Liz and Mikayla met at the State of the Union in March 2025 and collaborated on 30 episodes together. Although Mikayla has moved on to other commitments in her busy life, Liz has adopted the podcast as her own and is still going strong. Here's to wishing joy and fulfillment to all who listen!
